Finally Top Run won’t be in Finland
At the last moment it should cancel its participation because of Protasov’s health inconveniences and Kondrakhin’s professional job issues.(July 27th 2011)
Within hours remaining for the start of the eighth round of the World Rally Championship in Finland, more precisely at Jyvaskyla.
The Italian squad Top Run - that had planned to participate with drivers Yuri Protasov and Nikita Kondrakhin steering both Mitsubishi from the Production World Rally Car 2011 - had to delay its participation in the most classic meeting of the WRC due to different personal and medical issues.
Cutting short the possibility to do a great performance on the Scandinavian roads with the cars of Japanese origin prepared at Varese by the Agnello brothers, the team is undertaking to participate with both couples during September in Australia on board of the Lancer Evolution.
With this delaying, the Top Run Motorsport team is looking forward to the Superestars Series in Belgium at the Spa circuit, where it will participate from August 5th to 7th with their two Mercedes C 63 AMG drove by Nico Caldarola along with the rising Luca Rangoni who will try to repeat his triumph at Misano.
About the competition of this past weekend in Baja Spain in Zaragoza with valid points for the Dakar Series tournament, the crew formed by the Frenchman Michele De Nora along with the Italian Sergio Secchi had to retire from the competition during the special test 2 because Secchi didn’t feel physically comfortable co-driving the Toyota Land Cruiser VJD 200.
Now, Top Run Motorsport is thinking about Baja Hungary race from August 26th to 28th preparing the Nip vehicle for the Russian Elja Kuznetsov with the possibility of veteran Gallic De Nora to be added with another Toyota Cross Country 2011.
On the other hand from the Castiglione Olona factory, Alfonso Agnello informed that they have confirmed the presence of the Italian team in Czech Republic at Barum with the Subaru Impresa WRX STI New Age Spec C intended for Martinique driver Johan Heloise and another local driver to be designed. With the idea to be up to it in this new date of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge that promise to be very exciting with several international hierarchy entries, where the Top Run will start to observe optimistically their future Rally projects facing 2012.
